Parents were asking us these questions long before Daine College had a name. Some had children who'd been bullied into silence. Others had watched confident, curious kids shrink under classrooms too large for anyone to truly notice them. Many had tried online schooling already, only to find a library of videos and no sense of belonging at all.
We didn't think the answer was choosing the lesser of two flawed options. We thought there should be a third way: one that kept the structure and rigour of a real school and added the warmth, attention and humanity that both traditional and online education were missing.

"Why does my child dread school?"
Bullying, exclusion and classrooms where a child can feel invisible are real reasons learning stops feeling safe. Our teachers are trained to know each student individually, so no one gets to feel unseen.

Threats, punishment and marks-as-motivation teach children to avoid failure, not to love learning. Our teachers lead with encouragement, not intimidation.
"Can online school still be a school?"
Self-paced video modules and silence can feel like isolation. Daine College runs on a live daily timetable, with classmates who show up every day and relationships that actually form.
"Will I be left out of the loop?"
Limited communication leaves parents guessing. We build parents into the process with termly meetings, a portal and open communication as standard.
"Does flexibility mean lower standards?"
Flexibility and rigour aren't opposites. Our IEB-aligned curriculum and quality-controlled assessments hold the same bar as any respected school.
"Can my child be happy and do well?"
We believe they go together. Confidence, engagement and a genuine love of learning are outcomes we measure, not a nice-to-have alongside marks.
"Will my child's needs actually be seen and supported?"
Children with autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and other individual needs deserve more than a generic lesson plan. Is Daine College accredited?
Our curriculum is aligned to IEB standards and every teacher is SACE registered. We're happy to walk you through our full accreditation status during your consultation.
What happens if my child falls behind?
Our AI-powered gap detection flags struggling topics early and your child's teacher steps in with individualised support: small-group sessions, one-on-one time or adjusted pacing, well before it affects a report card.
Do the monthly outings really cost nothing extra?
Correct. Monthly outings are fully included in school fees. There's no additional charge to attend. The annual camp is optional and billed separately; we'll share the cost and details well ahead of time.
Can my child transfer mid-term?
Yes. We accept enrolments throughout the term and will help place your child at the right point in the curriculum, with extra support if needed to catch up.
What if my child needs learning support or accommodations?
We have a dedicated head of learning support: a specialist who works with our teachers and with your family on any child who needs accommodations, a different approach to how they learn or an individual learning plan. They guide the teachers day to day, so support is built into ordinary lessons rather than bolted on afterwards. How big are the classes?
No more than 22 students per class. That cap exists for a reason: it's small enough for the teacher to engage with every student in every lesson and small enough that participation feels natural rather than exposing. Every teacher is also trained to notice how each individual student learns and to adapt accordingly.
What if my child has been bullied before?
This is one of the most common reasons families come to us. Our teachers are specially trained in empathy-led, encouragement-based teaching, giving students the individual support and outings designed to help them rebuild confidence and trust at their own pace.
